Miniatures

Miniatures for oboe and bassoon is a cycle of eight short movements that can be heard individually or as a single work. It belongs to a group of compositions shaped by my close knowledge of the bassoon and by an increasing focus on breath and singing. Although much of my music is composed at the piano, many of these melodies were first found with the voice; as wind players must breathe in order to play, the music itself began to breathe.
