O Crux, Splendidior

O Crux, Splendidior, my Opus 1 and first composition, was written for the Graces and Voices composition competition. It received second prize on 5 April 2012; no first prize was awarded that year. Its dense polyphony draws on the minimalist idea of phase-shifting, with independent vocal lines continually overlapping. I later returned to fragments of the work in Insanity, where they reappear in a new dramatic context.
