Red, White, Black – Memories of a Greek Tragedy

Red, White, Black – Memories of a Greek Tragedy was conceived for a European project commission that was later cancelled. The orchestral work revisits material from my composition Pyramus and Thisbe and draws, among other sources, on the Elektra chord associated with Richard Strauss. These fragments and harmonic memories surface within a new dramatic context, as if recalling a tragedy that can no longer be seen in full.
