Timbre piano

Timbre piano was written during my bachelor studies for a Kaleidoscope composition concert at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel and marked a break from my earlier piano writing. Wooden blocks and metal weights prepare the strings, turning the piano into a laboratory of resonance, colour and physical sound. I gave the first performance myself, and the process opened a playful new way of exploring the instrument.
