Ur

Commissioned by Koi Collective for tenor saxophone, piano and tape, Ur turns towards the idea of origins—the primal beginning suggested by its title. Its electronic sounds were selected for their connection with the origins of things and of the world, surrounding the acoustic duo with a deeper sonic environment. Reviewing a 2021 performance at Beeldenstorm in Anderlecht, Crescendo Magazine highlighted the restrained power of the tenor saxophone and the piano’s strange beauty, both immersed in the electronic soundscape.
