06 / Artistic research

Research through making and performing.

Lamouris’ research combines composition, performance, experimentation and reflective writing. His Ph.D. investigated emotion, expression and musical “simplexity” in late-Romantic music and recontextualised these questions within his own practice.

His current three-year project examines arranging as a meaning-producing practice through a chamber version of Scriabin’s Poem of Ecstasy for flute, clarinet, violin, cello and piano. From 2021 to 2024, he served as Head of the research group Contemporary Music Practices at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel.
